Jerk-Spiced Tilapia

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 jalapeño
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp dried ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • pinch salt
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3 large or 6 small fillets tilapia
  • 2 limes

Directions

Mise en place

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Wash and dry jalapeno.
  • Peel and mince the garlic. Seed and mince the jalapeño.
  • Quarter the limes.
  • Measure out the ingredients.

Prepare

  • In a small bowl, mix together the garlic, jalapeño, thyme, chili powder, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, black pepper, salt and olive oil to form a paste.
  • Place the tilapia fillet on a cookie sheet lined with foil.
  • Spread each fillet with an equal amount of the paste mixture.
  • Bake the fillets until just cooked through, about 7 minutes.
  • Quarter the limes and squeeze fresh lime juice on each fillet.

Serve and enjoy!
