September is Family Meals Month and to celebrate, Common Threads is sharing easy and delicious recipes for you and your family to enjoy together. Today, we are highlighting our eggplant lasagna recipe. Eggplants are native to India and Asia, but lasagna is a dish that originated in Italy around the Middle Ages. Eggplants contain antioxidants such as vitamins A and C, as well as fiber that aids in digestion. Happy Family Meals Month! This month, Common Threads want families to eat at home with the people you love. Eating together as a family means better nutrition! Families that eat more than three meals together, at-home, a week see a 24% increase in healthy food consumption. Pledge to eat one more meal at home this month every week, and stay strong with family meals! #familymealsmonth #cookingforlife
Eating meals together is a great way to share family history and traditions. Meals that celebrate cultural, ethnic, and religious heritage help children form a strong sense of identity and feel grounded in who they are. Family Meals Month is an opportunity to focus on nutritious meals that are a part of your family’s heritage and share recipes and traditions that can be passed down for generations to come. #CookingForLife #FamilyMealsMonth
