Granola, similar to trail mix, is often rolled into snack-sized bars resulting in a great on the go snack. It’s often combined with yogurt, honey, strawberries, bananas, and other types of cereals to boost nutritional value.
Granola was invented in the United States as a food consisting of whole grain products crumbled and then baked until crisp. It was once primarily used by hikers and campers because it is lightweight, energy dense and easy to store. However, today, many people eat granola in a variety of ways.
