- Salt and pepper to taste

Prepare
- Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan.
- Gradually whisk in the cornmeal.
- Reduce heat to low and cook until the mixture thickens and cornmeal is tender, stirring often, for about 30-40 minutes.
- Remove from heat.
- Salt to taste.
