Chickpea Mushroom Pita

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup prepared or canned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/2 cup onion,
  • 2 cup white button mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 4 pitas Whole Wheat Pita Bread

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375º F

Add all of the ingredients, except pita bread, into a food processor and pulse until smooth.

Once ingredients are thoroughly pulsed, form 4 patties with the mixture.

Place the patties on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 25 minutes.

Place one patty into one whole wheat pita. Repeat for the remaining three.

Serve with sliced vegetables if desired.
